Their session was anything but ordinary. I’ve been photographing the A Family for more years than I can count! See last year’s session here. This year, we needed something different, something unique. So we rented an indoor, natural light photography studio in Centennial, Colorado. Thanks to Studio One, what we got was special indeed. I feel like these images belong in a lifestyle magazine!
I cannot fail to make a few introductions. Dad and Mom used to live on our cul-de-sac before our youngest kids were even born! That’s a long time to be family friends – at least 16 years! Their daughter is out of high school and living the life of independence and maturity as a working young woman (and she’s a talented photographer). Their son goes to high school with my son and they play on the same soccer team! Dad is a rock star, hard working and always making sacrifices for his family. And Mom is a one of a kind realtor!
Oh, and don’t miss the sweet dogs, Ava and Macie. Here’s more…
How has the pandemic affected your family?
All of us have had to redefine “normal”, things haven’t gone as planned for any of us. But it hasn’t been terrible! Just different.
What has been your favorite quarantine pastime?
Well, we recently had our backyard landscaping done. We now have a beautiful fire pit that is perfect for gathering around on warm summer nights that last til 9:00pm.
Have there been any blessings that have come from this?
Of course- we’ve learned to slow down and enjoy each other and our current opportunities more. We’ve learned how we so easily take for granted the ability to go eat at a restaurant or see a movie – or go to church! It’s been good to reconsider our blessings and remember how much of a blessing each one of them is.
Tell me the story of those sweet dogs.
We decided to adopt a puppy for my mom for Mother’s Day. On our way there, we talked about taking 2 pups home, one for us to keep. That’s how we found Macy. We follow a rescue on Facebook, and saw Ava’s sweet face one day and just knew she had to be a part of our family. She and her two brothers were rescued from a shelter in Oklahoma. She is a crazy puppy – but the perfect addition to our family!
Describe what your family means to you.
Love, grace, forgiveness, joy, mercy, sacrifice, peace, comfort, kindness, patience, and a lot more love – not in that order. We are very blessed and so grateful.
Thank you, A Family for your friendship and this AMAZING session!
