Mateo’s got a great smile and a he’s a fierce competitor in his three high school sports. So naturally, his senior pictures in Castle Rock, Colorado needed to reflect that. I can picture Mateo in his wrestling uniform winning a match, or in his football uniform huddled up with his team before the big game, or lacing up his track shoes ready to compete. He even plays golf for fun on the side with his brother! This guy is the oldest of three boys, so if you know me (read my bio here) you know I have a things for families with three boys like my own! I think it’s probably why mom chose me for Mateo’s senior pictures. I love that!

Tell me about being an athlete including your recent injury and what you hope to do with your talent after high school.
I injured my knee my sophomore year of football and it took me out of the rest of football and wrestling my sophomore year. Then I had to get a second surgery at the beginning of my junior year that took me out of football. But then, I got recovered and had a great season in wrestling placing 6th at state at 190 pounds! I hope to continue playing football at the next level!
Do you have any thoughts on what you’d like to for a future career?
I would love to do business sales just like my dad in the future!
What are some of your favorite childhood memories?
Some of my favorite memories are playing sports with my family outside in the yard, and traveling with my family.
Tell me one thing you hope to accomplish your senior year.
Finally start and contribute to the football team after years of not playing, and placing 3rd in state in wrestling this year.
If you could tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?
Be yourself. Eventually everyone will like you for who you are!
