I could write all day about her laughter, and the way she lights up a room. Meet my niece, Brianna! She’s a beautiful young lady with talents and interests that are leading her toward amazing things after graduation. I probably don’t need to say how much I love her, or how much I enjoy her company; I imagine she already knows our entire tight-knit family feels this way and thinks the world of her.

What will you miss about high school?
Not only am I thankful for Lutheran High School, but I will miss the people there, and I will always cherish their Christ centered and encouraging community. Luhigh has really helped me grow in my faith and supported my journey through the high school years. I will miss the teachers and the foundation of faith Luhigh is mounted upon. I will also miss going over to my Aunt Jamie’s house to study and work on homework after school.

Do you have any thoughts on what you’d like to do after you graduate?
All of the thoughts. All at once in fact. Just kidding! Right now I am not set on any organized plan except for pursuing college and being on the road to pursuing my many interests and seeing where they lead. Over the years I have enjoyed acting and I have screen acting on the forefront of my mind right now. I have also recently gotten very interested in the music industry. I have found a love for writing music. At my heart’s core, I love to help others people which leads to my joy of learning about psychology. So with those many different interests, I am excited and look forward to seeing where those roads will lead me.
What are some of your favorite childhood memories?
One of my favorites was J (my cousin) telling me that the birthday cake was his; when CLEARLY, I just wanted the first piece and I secretly think it was still MY birthday cake. But it’s ok- we are both young adults now and our five year old arguments don’t affect our friendship today….or at least I hope they don’t.
Another favorite childhood memory was baking and cooking with my two grandmas. With my Nana and my younger sister C, we would always make these intricate cupcakes that only looked half as good as the picture on the recipe book. But they still tasted good and we had a fun and great time together. Also, cooking with my Abuelita was a blast. The kitchen would smell wonderful, and our cousins also joined in to help. Our parents were proud that we were doing something productive and learning to cook (even though I think all of us forgot the recipe). I’ll always cherish spending time in the kitchen with both of my grandmas!
Tell me one thing you hope to accomplish your senior year.
Surviving it. Just kidding, hopefully. I hope to know by the end of it, preferably sooner, what I will be doing and where I’ll be going for college.
If you could tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?
Don’t drink the coconut milk Abuelita wanted you to try!!!!!! Also, life is a wild ride but it’s the only one you get, so enjoy it.
Brianna, it has been an incredible joy and a privilege to watch you grow into the beautiful young lady that you are. You have all my love!
