They have been blessed with two boys, and I’ve had the honor to help document some of the most incredible milestones for this family. Meet once again, the K Family! Adding baby Rory to their family means the world to them, and I’m ecstatic to be able to share a brief part of that joy here with you.

Tell me about the anticipation of his arrival.
With a two year old big brother running around, our planning and preparation for Rory was more difficult and we procrastinated more than we did the first time around. We spent a lot of time reading to big brother about his little brother on the way to help prepare him for little brother’s arrival. We knew that we were going to have a scheduled c-section early on, so it was nice to be able to plan on a specific date for his arrival, and luckily, Rory kept with the plan.
How was your delivery experience?
We opted to have a repeat c-section so we were able to schedule it at exactly 39 weeks. Having been through a scheduled c-section before, we generally knew what to expect which made the entire process a little bit easier this time around. I think Rory was ready to make his debut because in the middle of surgery, the anesthesiologist gave us a heads up that baby would arrive within three minutes. It was not more than 30 seconds later that Rory practically jumped into my doctor’s arms. The surgery and recovery went very well and we are so grateful for the amazing care provided to us by our incredible team of doctors and nurses.
What does adding Rory to your family of three mean to you?
We had prayed for another little life to add to our family for a while, so when we found out that God had blessed us with this newest addition, we were so incredibly grateful and so excited for big brother to have a lifelong buddy. We always thought R would be a great big brother, but I don’t think we ever expected to see the instant love that he has shown to little Rory from the second we got home from the hospital. It fills my mama heart to the fullest to see how loving R is with his little brother and we look forward to seeing their bond grow throughout the years.
Describe his personality.
Rory is super sweet and quite the snuggle buddy. He loves to sleep on mommy’s chest with his head nuzzled into her neck. When he is hungry, he is not afraid to let the whole house know about it. And he loves watching his big brother bounce around and act like a wild animal.
How much did he weigh at birth?
He weighed 8 lb 3 oz at birth – the exact same size as big brother.
