Valor Christian High School Senior Pictures in Highlands Ranch, Colorado | Noah

If I may introduce you, this is Noah, class of 2021!  He’d like to be a doctor one day, which is such an admirable goal.  He’s the student body president at Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado.  I loved his campaign hashtag, #inoahguy!  So clever!  He’s got the looks, the smarts, and dedication to go with it!  He used to play soccer with my son for many years.  So watching Noah mature into the young man he is today has been an honor.  Here’s more about Noah!

Tell me about becoming student body president.

As student body president, I have a lot of freedom to make the role what I want it to be.  We have an executive team on student leadership of 13 students including myself, and we are working hard this year to keep students updated on this very different school year. We will be doing a lot of work this year to adapt school-wide events to the regulations surrounding COVID-19. That being said, our main goal for this year is to allow the Valor student body to enjoy this year and make the most of it, even though circumstances are against us.

How has the pandemic changed your thinking about school, your future, or just life in general?

This pandemic has made me appreciate being physically in school much more. When we went to online school in the spring, it made me realize that I took it for granted when I was able to be at school. However, I’m now very grateful that we will be able to return to going to school for 5 days a week at the beginning of this school year.

Do you have any thoughts on what you’d like to do after you graduate?

After high school, I have plans to pursue the pre-med track in college so that I can one day become a doctor. I am also interested in religious studies and Spanish, so I may minor in one of those. I also have hopes to spend a semester abroad in a Spanish speaking country so I can move closer to my goal of being fluent in Spanish.

Tell me one thing you hope to accomplish your senior year.

During my senior year, I hope I have fun. I think, this year especially, it will be very easy to get overwhelmed and stressed out. With all the restrictions and health concerns, sometimes we have to question how long our being in school will last. I want to be able to look away from that and enjoy my senior year so that I can look back on it and say that I still had fun in my last year of high school, even during a pandemic.

If you could tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?

The one thing I would tell myself is to remember to not take things too seriously. It’s important to have fun with things because when you take one thing too seriously, you miss out on other parts of your life, whether it be friends, family, or other opportunities outside of school.

Noah, it’s going to be a great year!  I love your approach to the difficulty of the school year due to the pandemic.  Best wishes as you work hard this year, and toward your future goals.
