Some senior sessions feel familiar in a good way.
Three years ago, I photographed Keri’s older sister, Lauryn, for her senior photos, followed by family photos that year too. This summer it was Keri’s turn, and I loved seeing another chapter of their family’s story unfold in front of my camera.
We spent the evening surrounded by tall grass, glowing summer light, a quiet creek, and one very well-loved vintage chair that fit the nature setting Keri wanted perfectly. Keri’s style was effortless and classic, and every outfit looked right at home in the warm Colorado sunset.
One thing we talked about during her session was college. Like so many seniors, Keri isn’t quite sure what she wants to study yet. I smiled because I remember not having everything figured out too.
I reminded her that I didn’t become a photographer until I was in my 30s.
Sometimes it takes time to discover how you want to make a difference in this world. That’s okay. High school doesn’t have to be the moment you have your entire future planned. It just has to be the beginning.
In the meantime, Keri is making the most of this season. She enjoys working out at the gym, spending time with friends, and hanging out with her sister. I also loved getting to hear a little more about her in her own words.
