First Birthday Pictures with Milk and Cookies Smash Cake in Centennial, Colorado | Rory

This family is a favorite (shhh, don’t tell – I love all my clients).  Rory is their second boy who I’ve photographed from birth.  I adore little Rory, and they even have another family session on the calendar for this year.  I can’t wait!

This time, we met up in beautiful Centennial, Colorado to celebrate Rory’s first birthday!  You will enjoy looking back on his newborn session and sitter session.  Could this boy be any cuter!?

Here’s more about Rory!

What are Rory’s favorite things to do?

Rory has lots of favorites right now. He loves to play with trucks and cars with his big brother. He loves to go on long walks in the stroller. He loves playing in our basement where he has tons of room to cruise on all fours. He also loves climbing on anything and everything. He loves splashing in the pool or the bathtub. He loves to play games like peek-a-boo and pat-a-cake. He loves listening to fun songs like Skidamarink, Jesus Loves Me and the Bluey intro song. And most of all, his Daddy would say that Rory’s favorite thing to do is to be held in Mommy’s arms.

What makes him laugh?

Rory’s big brother can make him laugh best. He also thinks it’s funny when our kitties roll around on the floor asking for pets. A fun game of peek-a-boo usually gets some giggles. He is also pretty ticklish, so we can usually get a good belly laugh with some tummy, leg or neck tickles.

Tell me about how you celebrated his first birthday.

We had a small birthday party at home with close friends and family. It was a milk and cookies themed party that we extended into our one year photo session. What fun to be ONE!

What are some of his recent milestones?

He started crawling around 10 months. Around that same time, he started pulling himself up and walking with assistance and has recently mastered climbing the stairs. He was slow to eat solids, but really got interested in food in the last month and has started holding his own bottle/sippy cup to drink. He started playing a lot with his hands and likes to show the number 1 with his finger.

What is it like to be a mom to this sweet little boy?

Being this little boy’s mama is the greatest privilege and honor. He is the biggest mama’s boy and I am totally ok with some extra snuggles for as long as I can get them. He is such a happy little guy and he brings our family so much joy. He is a precious gift from God and I could not be more grateful.

K Family, it’s delightful to be apart of your lives in such a meaningful way.  Happy birthday to Rory!
