Meet Jaden! He’s a high school senior at Valor Christian High School. He’s played soccer with my son, Jacob, since shortly after they first met. I’m thinking they were probably around 10 years old! Many years have gone by, and their friendship has remained. It only seemed fitting since they are best friends, they attend the same school, and have always played on the same soccer team, that we combine their senior pictures. Plus, Jaden made senior pictures a much more fun experience for Jacob who has a photographer for a mom! <Insert eye rolls from all my children when the camera comes out.> Jacob and Jaden had a blast! Jaden has been accepted to play soccer for a college in Pennsylvania after graduation, which is so exciting! He’s really incredible on the soccer field! But more than that, he’s a young man of character who loves the Lord Jesus and strives to honor Him in everything he does.

Tell me about your love for soccer.
Soccer has been a passion for me since I was very young. I love everything about the sport; the intensity, teamwork, strategy, and of course, scoring goals!
Do you have any thoughts on what you’d like to do after you graduate?
I have committed to play soccer at Grove City College in PA. So excited to be headed there next fall!
What are some of your favorite childhood memories?
Because my parents were missionaries in Ukraine during my childhood, I was able to visit some awesome places in Europe, including Scotland, Hungary and England.
Tell me one thing you hope to accomplish your senior year.
I would love to help my soccer team win the League Championship!
If you could tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?
Don’t stress about the small things. Commit everything to the Lord!
Jaden, you’re been such a good friend to Jacob and it’s been awesome watching you play soccer all these years. I look forward to many more years of your friendship with Jacob, and cheering you on at Grove City College next year!
