Legend High School Senior Pictures | Lydia

She’s a special one!  Meet Lydia!  Her beautiful appearance is only part of this gorgeous session.  You can tell she’s a lover of literature, due to her thoughtful, well written answers below!  Maybe that will turn into a career path for her one day.  And I can’t move on without a throw back to her brother’s high school senior session a few years ago which you may also enjoy.

Here’s more about Lydia!

Tell me about your love for Greek classics.

When I was younger, my brother and I loved the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan. It surrounded a son of Poseidon and other gods and explored different myths. He was much more into it when we were kids, but I’ve gone deeper than he has. I enjoy consuming greek myths in the purest form, researching them, and I adore retellings of any kind. I listen to podcasts about the myths, and it’s important to me to realize that the myths were kind of awful in their treatment of women, but I enjoy tracing the myths to current stories and art.

Do you have any thoughts on what you’d like to do after you graduate?

I’m considering going to school for classics (mostly Greek, but Latin is a possibility) or for some kind of biology or anatomy. Something relating to life sciences. Depending on what degree I get, I’m considering medical school or graduate school to work in either surgery or teaching.

What are some of your favorite childhood memories?

When I was little, my dad used to speak Spanish to my brother and I because we begged him. He would oblige after we asked a few times, but then wouldn’t go back to speaking English, so we would cry, out of fear that we’d lost our dad to Spanish. It was awful and concerning then, but looking back on it now, it’s hilarious.

Also when I was younger, I was obsessed with fairies, mostly because of books (I read a lot). My friends and I would play fairies at recess during school, and for some reason, I loved Titanic, we would also play that. So, fairies on the Titanic, I suppose. I used to have a fairy garden in a patch of soil outside our house that I set up every summer and spent hours playing in.

Tell me one thing you hope to accomplish your senior year.

I’m really hoping to volunteer more, hopefully at some kind of animal shelter.

If you could tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?

You don’t have to grow up so fast. Life comes at it comes, no need to rush it.

Lydia and family, it is such an honor and I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!
