This little peanut graced the world at 6 pounds, 3 ounces and 18 inches long on February 16. Her name is Emelia, but she goes by Emmy. Isn’t that adorable! You may recognize this sweet family from their maternity pictures last fall. I know for sure you’ll remember their gorgeous dog, Hank, who doesn’t want to miss a single moment of Emmy’s first days at home. And perhaps you will recall that mom and dad are both pilots! I wonder how soon Emmy will have her first flight!? <wink> Here’s more from mom.
Describe your pregnancy. Any crazy food cravings?
Pregnancy was great! I loved feeling all her kicks and rolls. She was always super active at night and we always joked that she was doing karate while I slept ! I swear she got the hiccups a few times a day towards the end! The only thing I really craved were fruit smoothies from Juice Blend in Parker! Otherwise I just wanted all the food!
Tell me a little about the day she was born.
I delivered at Sky Ridge. We had gone in to see our doctor on the 15th, and she did an ultrasound to check my fluid level. It was low so they send us over to the hospital. About 13 hours later, our little girl was born!
What does adding Emelia to your family of mean to you?
I always knew I was meant to be a mom, and when I met Shane, I knew he would be the best dad in the world. After we got married we knew we wanted kids right away. We were so excited to find out we were having a little girl. She has completely changed our world in the best way possible. I don’t know how we ever existed with out her! She brings so much joy and happiness to our lives and we cannot wait to watch her grow up.
Describe her personality.
So far she has been a very laid back baby. She can sleep through almost anything! She does have a little bit of a dramatic side and if she doesn’t like something, she will let you know!! We love how she wakes up happy every day (just like her Mom!). We are seeing more and more of her personality every day and loving every minute!
I’m in love with little Emmy’s session, and I know that even by the time I deliver their images, Emmy has been growing and changing. It all goes by way too quickly; most parents would agree. Which is what makes what I do all the more special and full of meaning. L Family, enjoy your sneak peek!
