Meet Dallin and Rayci! They are two weeks engaged and so adorable. I had the honor of meeting Dallin and his family a few years ago for his family pictures.
The story below is THEIR STORY! It’s beautiful and special. I love that they each shared parts of it. I’m especially impressed with Rayci giving us her side of the story in English, since Portuguese is her first language.
Where did meet and how long have you known each other?
We met over ten years ago, but during all that time, we had never spoken to each other. It wasn’t until May 2024, when Dallin traveled to my country on vacation, that I decided to send him a kind message wishing him a pleasant stay. That simple gesture marked the beginning of an unexpected connection. Months later, in February 2025, Dallin returned to my country — this time with a clear purpose: to visit me. In May of the same year, I traveled to his homeland to get to know him better. During the first week of my stay, he surprised me with a marriage proposal — which I gladly accepted. And so, a story that had long lain dormant suddenly came to life in a deep and remarkable way.
How did you propose?
I took Rayci to a nice park up in the mountains, because we both love to be out in nature. I set up a nice little picnic for us with a candle and rose pedals around. We enjoyed our time together and as the sun was descending below the mountains I got a letter that I had written in Portuguese to read to her. I read her the letter and at the end of it I ask her to marry me. She responded with a yes, and we became engaged!!
What do you enjoying doing together?
We enjoy spending time together, going swimming, and watching movies together.
What makes you guys laugh with each other?
Things in everyday life make us laugh at each other. Especially when one of us unintentionally says something wrong in each other’s languages.
What is the overarching emotion you feel to be engaged?
We feel happy and special in our decision to walk together with a clear intention of building a life together and feel a sense of belonging. We feel peace knowing that we are together, and we have someone that we can count on and share every detail of our lives together.
