Dear Girls,
Your dad reached out to me about getting pictures with his darling girls because he wanted to give you a special day to be pampered and feel beautiful. He wanted you to know your beauty and feel your worth. So I thought I’d write to tell you some of the things he means behind those words.
You are Loved With an Everlasting Love
You were loved before the foundation of the world because there is a loving God who sees you, knows you, and wants you so much that He draws you to Himself, hoping you will respond to Him in faith. He made a relationship with Him possible through the cross of Jesus. Ever heard of a love so great it would sacrifice everything just to be with you? Well, that’s God’s love for you. He sacrificed Himself and gave His life FOR YOU to be with Him.
The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying:
“Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love;
Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.
Jeremiah 31:3 NKJV
You are a Treasured Creation
The way God sees you is like a treasure. You’re like a jewel to Him, hidden in a field, and He goes to great lengths to sell everything just to buy the field so His jewel can belong to Him.
“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. Matthew 13:44 NKJV
You Were Each Adopted
When you decide to love God back, with everything inside of you, and believe that God sent Jesus to die for you and to save and forgive you for all your sin, you become a child of God. You’re adopted into His family, forever! We no longer need an identity in anything else, because knowing that we are a child of His is enough. Wearing this title is a badge of honor! To know you are adopted as His child means peace, security, you are never alone, and He brings His love and joy to our lives, even when we’re sad or lonely. This picture of adoption means so much to every single child of God (me included). But I think it especially has special meaning for each of you.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. Galatians 8:14-16 NKJV
In Conclusion
The reason we can feel beauty and worth is because in the eyes of our Creator, we are beautiful, loved, and shown grace (even though we don’t deserve it). It’s not really about us, it’s about Him! It is because of His grace and because of who HE IS that we find purpose and love in this world, that extends into eternity.
You are each so special, and I hope you will always remember how much your dad loves you when you see these pictures, and exactly what God thinks of you too…loved, treasured, and adopted in His forever family!
