He brought TWO guitars! Meet Ewan! He’s a talented guy with lots of exciting passions and interests. Nature senior pictures were a must, since this guys loves the outdoors. His electric and acoustic guitars also made a memorable appearance, as well as his adorable girlfriend who came along for moral support.
Here’s more about Ewan!
Tell me about your love for music and that truck!
I think started listening to vinyl when I was seven or eight. One of the first albums I got was Still Bill by Bill Withers, and that album has remained one of my favorites to this day. My taste in music is all over the place, ranging from Dvorak to Pixies, but I’ll always have a soft spot for Bill Withers.
These days I collect more CDs than I do vinyl due to the cost of records, but either medium works for me. I just love being able to see and hold music, which I suppose is why I am as passionate about playing music as I am.
I drive a Red 1997 Toyota Tacoma named Pablo. He’s seen lots of dirt roads, scenic passes, and good times. I installed the KC Daylighter smiles on the front bull guard because I’m generally an energetic person, and I wanted Pablo to match my energy.
Do you have any thoughts on what you’d like to do after you graduate?
As of now, I’m planning on double-majoring in psychology and social work in the hopes of starting a career in family counseling. Which college I go to is anyone’s guess.
What are some of your favorite childhood memories?
I’ve spent no small amount of my life backpacking, camping, and fishing. Nothing compares to it.
My favorite childhood memory is probably the vivid image of storms over the great Sand Dunes after a long day of my first backpacking trip. I was in the Boy Scouts at the time, and I just remember that trip–as tired and sandy as we were–being one to remember. Actually backpacking where Robert Redford and Paul Paul Newman once rode in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (a personal favorite of my dad and me) was a dream come true.
Tell me one thing you hope to accomplish your senior year.
I want to graduate. I’m definitely on track to graduate, but high school tests my sanity every day.
If you could tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?
Get rid of that black jacket, use less product in your hair, and quit caring about what others think of you. We spent too much time pursuing the approval of people we didn’t care about. Follow your heart and make mistakes. Just trust me–things work out well for us in the end.
Ewan, hang in there! You’ve almost made it. You’re an awesome guy, and it was so fun to be a part of your senior year in this way. Enjoy your sneak peek!
