Sugar, spice, and everything nice; that’s what little girls are made of. Meet Emelia, “Emmy” for short! Her family is overjoyed that the anticipation is over. Emmy arrived a teeny-tiny six pounds, one ounce of “squishy goodness” as Mom endearingly put it. Big brother is two, and it impressed me that he loves to have books read to him, has the verbal skills of a child twice his age, and was so patient and gentle with his new sister. At seven days, she wore her little bunny bonnet proudly, and sleep like a little angel for her newborn session.
Here’s more from Mom about Emmy!
Tell me about the anticipation of her arrival.
My mom flew in to keep big brother M company while we were in the hospital which was so fun for him and a huge relief for me. We were all very excited and prepared M as much as we could for the big change.
How was your delivery experience?
My induced delivery was similar to the first, except a little shorter, so I felt a little more knowledgeable this time around. The staff was wonderful, which helped!
What does adding Emilia to your family of four mean to you?
We have always hoped to give M a sibling. We’re so thrilled to have Emelia in our family and excited to watch them grow that ultimate friendship.
Describe her personality.
It’s still pretty early, but her personality has been pretty easygoing from the start which we didn’t expect! Of course that’s helped a lot with the transition from one to two kids.
R Family, what an honor to help you celebrate Emmy’s arrival. Enjoy your sneak peek!
