They’ve got a motto around their house. It goes something like this:
“Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.” -Lilo and Stitch
Meet the F and H Family. They are an adorable bunch, and no strangers to my camera. I am proud of their past sessions, which are too numerous to list. Another year older, they are helping to keep my blog a beautiful place. The sunlight, their outfits, and the beauty of the changing seasons has me just giddy to get their session sneak peek up. Here’s more from Mom:
How has the pandemic affected your family?
John and I actually loved on-line learning last Spring. N (the high schooler) attended classes from his computer and was able to interact with his teachers and other students every day. I loved attending chapel with him each week and I made sure he took breaks, had snacks and got some fresh air. The littles hung out with J in his office and we had a full schedule for each day. I prepared snack each day. The boys had recess each day, and J took care of lunches. Keeping a routine helped all of us get through the days.
What has been your favorite quarantine pastime?
Being at home and having nowhere to go has been my favorite pastime. I took lots of walks with my dog and we enjoyed many family dinners on our beautiful patio. Each week we would “dine out” once and pick up take-out from a local restaurant. We wanted to do our part to help businesses stay in business. J’s favorite pastime was planting. He started planting on Mother’s Day weekend and never stopped. Out yard was absolutely gorgeous this year!
Have there been any good things that have come from this for your family?
The best part has been slowing down and enjoying time together. When we were on the go, we barely had time to check in with each other. When we were all under the same roof, we had time for talking, time to watch movies, time to go for walks and bike rides. All of our relationships grew stronger under this beautiful roof of ours.
What makes the little ones laugh?
Our new dog, Daisy. She is quite the handful and makes us all smile and laugh.
Describe what your family means to you.
My family means “inclusion.” Each one of us is unique. Each one of us needs different ways to feel supported and included. We ALL need to feel loved. Being in this family means I am always looking and listening for what each person needs to feel supported.
What a joy it is to know your family! I appreciate you, and love being a part of preserving such important and special moments in your life. Enjoy your sneak peek!
