Meet Mr. Jordy Isiah. He arrived at a healthy 6 pounds, 14 ounces of lovable sweetness. By the time I met him, he had exceeded his birth weight and was already 7 pounds, 7 ounces. But still so tiny, especially in the arms of his family that loves him. Here’s more about Jordy!
Describe your pregnancy. Did he arrive early/late or on time?
Overall my pregnancy was good, just very different than with my first (K). I was more tired (not much energy) but I was running around with a toddler this time around. Not as much free time to rest. I carried Jordy quite a bit lower than K which was another adjustment. Take your pick – K up in my rib cage or Jordy settling in low and giving that feeling you have to pee every couple minutes. Also, there was some heart ache with this pregnancy which was difficult at times but so much to be thankful for as well.
Where did you deliver and tell me a little about the day he was born/your delivery.
Jordy came 5 days early and honestly I had predicted he might come early based on my calculations. My sister’s son was born on August 17, so we were going for birthday buddies however, Jordy did not hold out (52 mins too early).
I delivered at Rose Medical Center. Due to COVID, the first time we saw the Rose Babies Center was the day I delivered. Rose exceeded my expectations. We started out the day going to church (first time in person since March) and then got donuts afterwards – our typical Sunday ritual. The donuts were tasty! I had my first contraction around 11am and after several hours of consistent contractions I informed J that this was the real deal – let the fun begin. My sister arrived around 7:30pm to take care of K and J and I headed for the hospital around 8:30pm. We arrived at the hospital around 9pm, received a COVID screening and waited on a bench for approximately 45 minutes until the triage nurse greeted us. After telling the nurse a little bit about our day and how my first delivery went, she took us straight to a labor and delivery room. And thank goodness she did. We got settled into the room around 10:00pm and Jordy made his debut at 11:08pm. The delivery was fast and furious and this momma would not have wanted it any other way. We hope he tackles life with that same ambition!
What does adding Jordy to your family of mean to you?
Adding Jordy to our family is truly the greatest gift. I can honestly say that I feel this family is finally complete. As one of Jarrett co-workers said, we have moved from a 2v1 zone defense to a man-to-man defense and we are up for the challenge.
Describe Jordy’s personality.
Jordy is the sweetest and cutest little peanut. He loves to snuggle just like his big sister (trait from mom) and his soft little cry only comes out when he is hungry or needs to burp. He loves to flex his muscles and he has shown us his strength already after having to get blood drawn for the first 6 days of his life.
How does big sister like her new baby brother?
Big sister K is in love with her baby brother. She can’t keep her hands off of him and kisses on the lips are her absolute favorite. She loves to sing him songs and just be by his side. The first couple days her favorite things to ask Jordy was “Are you a cutie pie?” It was pretty precious. I cannot wait to watch them grow up together.
D Family, I hope each day with Jordy is treasured and special. Enjoy every single moment!
