She was a petite 5 lb, 7oz and three weeks early when she was born. By the time I met her, her cheeks had filled out, and she had gained well over a pound of sweet baby cuteness. Precious little Aurora had to wait a bit longer for her session, but I don’t think she will ever mind! In fact, those adorable cheeks made the wait worth it! And waiting this family knows well. As Mom shares below, their IVF journey has given them such deep love for the little one they waited so long to hold in their arms.
Here’s more from Mom:
Describe your pregnancy.
This was our first pregnancy and it went well overall. We had a scheduled C-section early at 37 weeks due to placenta complications.
Where did you deliver and tell me a little about the day she was born.
We delivered at Evans Army Community Hospital on Fort Carson in Colorado Springs. Since it was a scheduled c-section, we just walked in with our masks on and had baby Aurora 2 hours later. We are grateful for the wonderful hospital staff, but sad that only G (Aurora’s dad) could be there due to COVID-19 restrictions. We are still trying to find ways family can safely come and meet Aurora.
What does adding Aurora to your family of mean to you?
She changes everything. We are still amazed she is ours. We had a long journey to include IVF to get here. We are grateful and fortunate (and tired from the sleepless nights).
Describe Aurora’s personality.
So far, she is pretty easy and tells us what she needs. We are enjoying how much more awake she is lately.
Baby Aurora and family, what a joy it is for me to help welcome Aurora to your family. I hope those first meetings with family are super precious. Many congratulations!
