From three to four, this beautiful family grew. The sound of his peaceful breathing when he’s asleep reminds them to enjoy each moment. Meet Jay! Weighing in at 6 pounds, eight ounces, he feels like heaven to hold. Seven days after he joined his family, I got to meet him, his adoring parents, and that sweet little peanut of a big sister. Their home is full, and so are their hearts. There’s a wonder to the miracle of life. We’re grown used to it, but when we stop to really consider how miraculous it truly is, it’s breath taking. It’s the moment where you want to hold those you love so closely in gratitude for the gift of togetherness, and the life that pumps through our veins. It’s gratitude for new life, and being awestruck at it’s amazingness.
Family means everything. It’s the hard, the joy, and all that is in between. It is the newness and the mundane, celebrated with every passing day. It is the relationships we treasure and hold so dear. It is love. It is forgiveness. It is celebration. It is joy. It comes with difficulty, no doubt. That is, in part, what makes it so beautiful. It’s the perseverance through the struggle, all because of one thing. Love. It becomes the motive for everything we do.
As I look at the photographs of this family, I see a beautiful Mother whose love has just multiplied. I see a Dad, radiating at the joy of holding his little ones. I see a big sister who will realize (someday soon) she’s been given a little brother to help take care of. I see the tenderness of each moment, leaving imprints of beautiful memories they share together. I see a song they will sing of the days that have challenge now, but will forever be cherished as they watch these beauties grow before their eyes.
