Twins Photographer in Castle Pines, Colorado

I’ve had the incredible honor of knowing and photographing the G Family for three years!  Their sweet smiles make me happy to see them each fall, and every year I’m amazed at how this family has managed two sets of twins!  They are ages 12, 12, 8 and 8.  Their story is truly inspiring and full of amazement.  I think you’ll love reading about their lives.

How long have you been married?

We are high school sweethearts and have been married for 18 years.  We got married in 2000, so there is really no excuse for either of us not to know how many years.  This has come in quite handy.

What does your family enjoy doing together?

We like being together as a family whether it is hiking, gardening, vegging on the couch, adventures with our close family, cooking and of course eating good food.  We like spending time with friends and family the most (with good food always involved).  Our kids are blessed to have cousins close in age.  Watching them grow up together has been so wonderful.

What is your home like with two sets of twins?

We can’t sum up our lives “in a word”.  I think we are all the words!  Blessed comes to mind first though.  We need to remind ourselves quite often!  We are organized chaos, always moving, constant activity, endless dishes and laundry, holding multiple simultaneous conversations, hard teaching moments unique to having a twin, bountiful tender moments, and lots of sarcasm and laughing at ourselves.

Do your kiddos seem to like having a twin?

The kids love being twins.  They appreciate the companionship that comes with a close friend/sibling/twin.  They are old enough to express how blessed they feel to have each other.  Of course, we need to remind them from time to time.  Sharing isn’t always easy and they had to learn to share from the get go.

How did you ever manage two sets of twins when they were infants?

When the Littles were born, I suddenly had 4 kids 3 and under.  It was a few years before I realized that.  I was more focused on my health, the babies, and finally being with my Girls after a few weeks stay in the hospital.  Honestly, the second set was a breeze compared to the first set.  I knew what to expect, the Littles were healthier, they come home sooner, and I didn’t have post-partum.  My Girls are such amazingly sweet girls and were a big part of me being able to handle it all.

It was always busy, busy, busy. Getting them ready for the day or an outing was the hardest.  While I was getting the babies ready, one of the girls would usually get “unready”.  I would end up dressing someone twice if not more.  Then as we were heading out the door or getting buckled in, I would notice a diaper really needed to be changed.  This got worse when the babies were older and joined the chaos of getting ready or “unready”. Apply that scenario to all daily routines to get the gist of our daily life.  And take into account that 2 can make WAY more than twice the mess in seconds.

What is it like being parents to these four sweet kiddos?

Being a mom and dad to these four is overwhelming in the BEST of ways.

G Family, I love this peek into your lives and the joy in your home just radiates in the way you’ve shared it all with me.  Thank you for the honor of being a small part of your lives.  Enjoy your sneak peek!
