Meet the H & F Families! This household is sure busy! I love the dynamic of the young kids with the older ones. Mom took the time to share a little more with me.
How old are the little ones?
Younger M is five and older M is nine.
What is the dynamic like having two older and two younger around?
It is funny because J (dad) is older and has young boys and I (mom) am younger and have older boys. Most days, it feels like we are going in two different directions but somehow we manage to come together as a family. The littles are up early and in bed by nine o’clock each night. The bigs sleep in and stay up late. J and I both love being parents and our children come first. J is great keeping up with the physical energy of the boys and I am great with the details: logistics and late night driving. Somehow, we balance each other out and each of us gets the attention we need.
What do you all enjoy doing together?
We love to come together around meals. We are happiest when we can cook at home and enjoy quiet nights in together. Having four boys with four different schedules, these evenings seem few and far between so we covet them.
What makes the little ones laugh?
The little ones laugh the most listening to stories. J has found many stories for them to listen to in the car and he loves to sit and read with them at night. He is great with kisses, cuddles and time for the boys to sit on his lap.
What makes the older ones laugh?
C and N laugh the most when we play games or have fun dinnertime conversation. Noah enjoys telling stories about his day and things he has learned and can always put a funny twist on them. I love it when N makes C laugh. J has a way of making N laugh all of the time. N is delighted by J’s stories and loves to listen to him tell them.
Where did you and J meet?
J and I met through Pilates. He was a client first, then a friend, and then the person I fell in love with. I would say our relationship is a God thing. Neither of us were looking for a relationship; the relationship found us.
