Sometimes Colorado weather changes the plan for the better. Landon’s original senior session was looking like it would get rained out, so we switched gears and met in the morning instead. We ended up with gorgeous light, cooler temperatures, and a welcome break from the hot Colorado evenings we’ve had lately.
Landon is a senior at Castle View High School in Castle Rock and part of the Class of 2027. We started his session in nature, with rocks, trails, and greenery. Then, we explored downtown, using brick, dark storefronts, and other urban spots for a clean, modern look. From there, we headed to the creek which gave us a completely different setting.
I knew before we met that Landon loved baseball, so we had to include it. It has been part of Landon’s life since he was little. He brought his glove, bat, and baseball, and those images tell an important piece of his story.
Landon was also a great sport about changing clothes throughout the morning—we fit in four outfits! His choices gave us plenty of variety without feeling overdone: jeans with a muted maroon T-shirt, a blue short-sleeved button-up, a white T-shirt with dark jeans, and a black polo with light gray pants. They worked so well with both the urban and natural settings.
Q&A with Landon
Tell me about playing baseball.
I have been playing baseball for a long time, as long as I remember, and it is something that I love to do! I have made a lot of good friends playing baseball and I keep meeting new people. I love getting to play with friends and be part of a team.
Do you have any thoughts on what you’d like to do after graduation?
I am not exactly sure what I want to do after graduation yet but I want to go to collage and get a degree of some sort.
What are some of your favorite childhood memories?
Some of my favorite childhood memories are going on trips with my family, skiing and playing sports with my friends.
Tell me one thing you hope to accomplish your senior year.
Something that I hope to accomplish during my senior year is figuring out what I want to do in college and after.
If you could tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?
If I could tell my younger self one thing I would say to work extra hard if there is something you love because you might not have it forever.
