Meet little Elise! Seven pounds, ten ounces of beauty and sweetness was added this family–and they are feeling blessed. Elise’s story is one of answered prayer. Her parents walked through loss and heartache before she arrived, and at 44, her mama said she never gave up hope for another daughter. Elise’s name means “God’s promise,” and that’s exactly what she is to this sweet family of four.
As a South Denver newborn photographer, these sessions remind me why I love what I do. It’s not just about tiny fingers and sweet headbands—it’s about the beautiful story behind the photos.

Newborn Photos at Home
Elise’s session took place in the comfort of her home. Photographing families in their own space always adds a layer of meaning—their bedroom, the nursery, even the soft light filtering in through familiar windows. These are the places where so many firsts will happen, and it makes the photos that much more special.
The family portraits—snuggled on the bed, in the nursery, and those sweet photos of big sister leaning in to kiss her baby sister—are so meaningful. Elise’s big sister was proud and gentle, her little arms wrapped around her baby with a seriousness that showed just how much she already loves her baby sister.
We also took time for photos of just Elise. She’ll never be this tiny again, and these little details are the ones families hold onto forever. Her wispy hair, the way her hands curled under her chin, her long lashes against her cheeks—all of it telling the story of her earliest days.
One of my favorite setups was Elise wrapped snugly in an earth-tone mauve, holding a tiny knit teddy bear. There’s something so timeless about a simple swaddle. Another standout was the gorgeous lace wrap in a vintage-inspired basket. With her soft skin against the textures, the photo is one I imagine making it onto the walls of their beautiful South Denver home.
As a South Denver newborn photographer, weaving together posed portraits and family lifestyle images is a stylistic choice I make for every session—one I know my families appreciate and cherish. The result is a gallery that feels complete: sweet newborn portraits paired with natural, emotional family moments.
Meet the S Family: Q&A
Tell me about the anticipation of her arrival.
We have been so excited to meet this precious little miracle! After having our first daughter I knew I wanted another. The journey to this second baby was not the easiest. We had a couple of losses before Elise came along and last year lost twins at 9 weeks. At 43 my hopes for another precious daughter were still strong despite the odds against me. Elise means “God’s promise” and through this journey I learned so much about God’s faithfulness and how He truly cares about the desires of my heart. At 44 our precious miracle rainbow baby was born!!
How was your delivery experience?
This delivery was harder than my first despite the fact that usually the second baby comes easier. With our first I pushed for 2.5 hours and with Elise I still had to push for 2 hours. She ended up being a bigger baby and her umbilical cord was short so she was a little stuck. Despite all that I was still able to have a vaginal birth. I did lose a lot of blood though so the recovery has been a little bit harder this time.
What does adding Elise to your family of four mean to you?
She means the absolute world to us. The journey to have her was not an easy road so now that she is here and everyone is healthy is truly a gift. I’m so thrilled to have two beautiful little girls and hope and pray that they will be close and the best of friends.
Describe her personality.
So far Elise is a very chill baby. She’s a much better sleeper than our first so far and is just overall very calm.
Elise’s newborn session is a reminder of what a gift these first days are. Her parents described her perfectly—calm, peaceful, and the promise they had prayed for.
As a South Denver newborn photographer, it’s always an honor to step into a family’s home and document their story. For the S family, these images will forever hold the memory of their miracle baby girl.
Congratulations, S Family! I hope every day with Elise is cherished.
