This little guy is busy! Meet Theo, and join me in wishing him a happy birthday in a couple of weeks! He’s celebrating his first birthday with his mom and dad, and they couldn’t love him more.

What are Theo’s favorite things to do?
Theo is always on the go! He likes inspecting mechanical things and figuring them out; he also loves the bath and eating food.
What makes him laugh?
Funny noises and tummy nibbles from Mommy and Daddy make him laugh.
Tell me about how you will celebrate his first birthday.
Theo will be having an outer space-themed birthday party! We didn’t know his gender before he was born, but during our early ultrasounds he was spinning around in my tummy so much we nicknamed him Mermaid/Astronaut. The outer space theme has stuck ever since.
Tell me about his smash cake.
For this photoshoot, the smash cake was very meaningful to me because I baked it myself. When Theo was born, the latest season of British Bake Off had just started. It was my go-to show to watch during our nursing sessions, which usually turned into contact naps. I have the sweetest memories of those precious newborn moments. I was so committed to getting the cake right that I even baked practice ones to make sure everything turned out well and to work on my piping technique! Based on his reaction, I think Theo approved!
What are some of his recent milestones?
He is on the verge of walking! We recently attended his first music class. Also, he just completed his fifth trip – he has been on two road trips and three plane rides to visit family across the country. He loved visiting the ocean for the first time, especially playing in the tide on the beach.
What is it like to be a mom to this sweet little boy?
It has been an absolute joy to watch him grow and learn. I love staring into his big, beautiful blue eyes. He’s such a happy baby and I’m so proud of him every day!
