Baby Lennox’s Home Newborn Session

Meet twelve day old Lennox!  He’s a sweet baby who loves to be swaddled.  I had the joy of joining them in their home to celebrate his arrival. I just adore his session! Here’s more from mom:

Tell me about the anticipation of his arrival.

Pregnancy was so much fun with Lennox, I enjoyed nearly every minute. I was able to share a lot with Lennox that I believe helped us bond before he was born and helped our delivery go smoothly like our running routine. We were prepared for a “high stress” situation after running so many miles together throughout pregnancy. We were so excited about having a baby that we read to him every night and played him a song, hoping he could hear it.

How was your delivery experience?

Lennox decided to come three weeks early so we were surprised, excited, and scared when my water broke early on Thursday morning, around 5am. Luckily I am a planner so the nursery was done, carseats were installed, and we had a hospital bag packed. What we weren’t prepared for were names.

Cory and I hadn’t know the baby’s gender during pregnancy and wanted to keep that a surprise until delivery. We had Lennox picked for a boy but scrambled for a girl name. We got to the hospital around 8am and we were rapidly trying to decide on a girl’s name. I had a strong feeling Lennox was a girl; clearly I was wrong! Cory had suggested what felt like every name possible and nothing stuck. We started feeling anxious after spending most of the day waiting for him to arrive. At 10pm the OB told us it was time to push. He was delivered at 11:07pm and weighed 6lbs 7oz. Our OB knew we were keeping his gender a surprise so she let Cory announce to the room his gender before he was placed on my chest for skin to skin. We had never decided on that girl name so it felt like everything was meant to be.

What does adding Lennox to your family of three mean to you?

Lennox has changed our lives. Cory and I have been together for eleven years so we were very young. In that time we had said we didn’t want children and decided to focus on our careers. We never knew with certainty that children were right for us but when I got to my mid 30s I felt there was something more to life. Lennox has a part of my soul and he’s captured my whole heart. I didn’t even know I didn’t feel complete until I met him.

Describe his personality .

Its too soon to tell! But if I had to say something, he’s mellow and easy going.

How much did he weigh at birth?

Lennox weighed 6lbs 7oz.

Lennox and family, it’s an honor to document such a joy filled occasion and milestone for your family of three.  Enjoy your sneak peek!
