Meet the M kids! Their annual session is always full of mischief and fun. They still laugh at my jokes, even though I’ve been giving the same ones every year for so many years now. It’s pretty likely I say that in every sneak peek too. <giggle>
This family lives on what I call a mini farm. They have goats, chickens, horses, dogs, cats, sometimes turkeys, and I’m sure more, depending on the fluctuating seasons of farm like. Plus, mom is an animal chiropractor, specializing in horses (I dare you to picture that!). I’ve known this family long before they were in front of my camera, and I just adore them. Their oldest daughter is away at college, and the next in line is heading there soon himself!
Here’s more!
What is a house full of three boys like, since J is now at college?
It is somewhat different but can be very loud and active or very quiet depending on who is home and what they are doing! I tell them that I may be the only female in the house but I still hold 51% of the vote.
Tell me about life on a mini farm and chores.
I guess its all I’ve ever known since I’ve grown up with animals. This last month since having my back surgery the kids have had to do all the chores and I know they are ready to have me back doing all the goat chores! The boys all have their chicken chores but divided up my goat chores until I can lift things again. I don’t mind the chores at all as I love the animals, the boys on the other hand aren’t so fond of them. I would much rather be out cleaning goat pens than my house! The boys have had animals to take care of since they were little with 4H and everything. I think it is a good responsibility for kids to have to take care of animals that depend on them for everything. This last month we have had to reinforce our chickens as a fox has been getting in and killing our chickens.
What do your kids like to do together?
It depends, sometimes they get along well and other times not at all. They all have such different personalities. They like to ski, play board games(when I can get them off the electronics), the trampoline and scooters and skateboards. They had to do more things together last spring when everyone was at home and I was surprised how they could get a long when they had on one else to do things with!
What makes them laugh?
They like to joke around together and watch funny videos.
Describe what your family means to you.
Family is the most important thing to me after God. I’m trying to find ways to keep doing things together which can get hard with teenagers sometimes who want to spend more time on their electronics and friends. We are working on it though. Hopefully they will look back on the family times one day with good memories!
M Family, enjoy your sneak peek!
