Extended Family with Grandparents Session in Parker, Colorado

This gorgeous session was a gift to their parents (the grandparents)!  This family began 43 years ago when Grandma and Grandpa got married.  They had two children, a boy and a girl.  Their daughter married, giving them three adorable grandchildren.  And today, they all live close enough to one another to share life together.  Their relationship is special.  Here’s more from J, their grown daughter.

What significance does this family session hold for you all?

This is our first time doing professional family portraits since the grandchildren were born. I (J) can’t believe that! We are so grateful we finally prioritized this and have captured these moments of the whole family.

How has the pandemic affected everyone?

We have been pretty fortunate through the pandemic. B and M (the two guys) and me (J) have all maintained our jobs – M and I are able to work virtually or in the office as needed. B works in the grocery business so he has been working in the store throughout. The first few weeks were a little unnerving, and we spent more time away from the grandparents than ever before, but we have not been living in fear and our time together has become even more special…just like these photos! Our hearts go out to all those who have been impacted directly by the virus or by the severe economic hardships that have followed.

What has been your favorite quarantine pastime?

Spending more time at home and going to the pool (we were able to reserve time at the pool throughout the summer) finally enabled us to teach C and S (the older two kiddos) to ride their bikes and learn to swim this summer! I always felt guilty as a working mother that I hadn’t been able to prioritize this so was particularly proud that they achieved these milestones this summer!

What makes those three sweet kids laugh?

Unfortunately, potty humor is a guaranteed laugh at this age…until Mom or Dad have to put our foot down.

Describe what your parents mean to you.

My parents do so much for the family. My mom watched each of the kids from infancy until they started full time pre-school. She picks them up from school daily and would do anything for them and us. We are forever grateful. As a result, the kids absolutely adore their grandparents and have an incredibly close relationship with them. The kids are just as comfortable at their home as they are at our own. Thank you Mom and Dad for all you do!

C and M Families, I am honored to be a small part of helping you remember this precious stage of life and the bonds you all share.  Enjoy your sneak peek!
