The joys in life go on, even in the face of crisis. Meet Waylon! Weighing eight pounds, five ounces, he came on Leap Day, 2020! He’s a “leapling,” as many adoringly call them. I’m sure we’re all wondering when Waylon will celebrate his birthday, considering he only really gets one every four years. I guess we’ll just have to stay tuned to ask when that first birthday comes! However, many celebrate on either February 28, or March 1 from what I’ve heard. But who knows, maybe Waylon and family will have a unique tradition.
Before I share with you more about precious little Waylon, I can’t help but mention that he came at just the right time in this family’s life. Mom recently graduated veterinary school! Congratulations! And Dad’s a pharmacist, who runs a business a Parker. Not only that, but they’ve been renovating their beautiful home in the country! To say they’ve been busy would probably be an understatement.
Describe your pregnancy. Did he arrive early/late or on time?
My pregnancy went smoothly. Waylon made his grand entrance on Leap Day, 4 days before his due date.
Tell me a little about the day he was born/your delivery.
I delivered at Castle Rock Adventist Hospital. My contractions started at 1:30am on February 28th. At this time, I was convinced he wasn’t going to be a Leap Day baby. I was wrong! After 36 hours of laboring, he was born on February 29th in the afternoon.
What does adding Waylon to your family mean to you?
Waylon has already brought so much joy to our family. We are so blessed and grateful to be his parents.
Describe his personality.
At 2 weeks of age, he already knows what he wants! He has an excellent appetite, loves to cuddle and can’t stand having the slightest dirty diaper.
Be sure you check out both his sneak peek images below, and the adorable video above! To the M Family, I wish you all the best as you savor every passing milestone in Waylon’s young life. Thank you for the honor of being a part of this beginning.
