Meet the C Family! This sweet bunch has three teenagers ages seventeen, fifteen, and thirteen. The youngest gets special treatment being the only girl, and rightly should! Her brothers look out for her, and she simply adores them! You can tell by my interview with mom that this family is full of laughter, love and encouragement. I can’t wait to see how they display these images proudly in their home.
What do you enjoy doing as a family?
With older kids who have jobs, practices, homework and driver’s licenses, I cherish EVERYTHING we do as a complete family. We love to eat, laugh and compete. If we’re all in the same room, it’s likely that we’re doing all three!
What if your favorite Christmas tradition?
I love decorating the tree together. We have selected a family ornament every year and the kids have received personalized ornaments from their grandparents every year. As we hang the ornaments, the kids recall past interests, revisit favorite memories, and remember important milestones. We spend the evening sharing our family’s journey with every hanging “mile marker.”
What makes you laugh together?
Truthfully, we laugh at ourselves and each other often. Stories, dance moves, errors, games, ideas and practical jokes have all been known to ignite a chorus of laughter.
If you could give one piece of advice to someone with kids just entering the teenage years, what would it be?
Pay attention! The teenage years are defined by self discovery and identity formation. Our kids’ interests and priorities have changed without announcements or fanfare. Our job is to recognize their passions, support their journey, and love the individual they are becoming!
These are words of wisdom, and I’m so glad to be a part of these special memories. C Family, may your home be filled with the beauty of the special relationships you all share and I hope these images will be meaningful to you as the years go by. Enjoy your sneak peek!
