Lone Tree, Colorado Newborn and Sibling Photography | Bennett

This sweetie pie is embraced by three siblings who just adore him!  Meet Bennett.  He’s a bundle of sweetness and I had the honor of helping this family welcome him to the world.  His story is beautiful, as told my mom.

Describe your pregnancy and delivery.

My pregnancy with Bennett was one filled with excitement and anticipation.  We were filled with joy when we found out he was coming along and could share the news with family and friends!  His three older siblings were especially elated when we told them on Thanksgiving Day 2018.  Bennett was a night owl from the start, and mostly active when mom was ready to sleep.  Even a cup of morning coffee didn’t seem to make him move much in the mornings.  He was diagnosed with an isolated single umbilical artery at 20 weeks gestation, which was carefully monitored.  Thankfully, this didn’t affect his development, and we have been blessed with a healthy baby boy.  Bennett came right on time with mommy heading to the hospital on the evening of his due date! The day he was born was a pretty ordinary summer day for our family.  The older siblings were trying some new outdoor adventures at camp…kayaking and rock climbing, while mom had some time to rest and relax that day.  We had family dinner together and the kids went to bed as usual, and shortly after, mom and dad left for the hospital.  Bennett was born at 1:14am that night.

What does adding Bennett to your family of now six mean to you?

Our family of six is now complete with the addition of little Bennett!  We are so thankful for him.

Tell me the most difficult thing about bringing home a newborn to a full house, and the best thing.

The challenge of bringing home a newborn to a full house is often finding time to rest.  There is always something happening around the household…never a dull moment!  Fortunately, the kids are eager to help mom and dad with the baby, and so far with the support of family and friends we have had a wonderfully smooth transition into a new normal.

Where did Bennett get his name?

Bennett means “Blessed” or “Little Blessed One”, which we feel we are, and certainly wish that over Bennett’s life too. God has shown us His love and mercy through the people he has put in our path since moving to Colorado seven years ago.  We are abundantly blessed!  Bennett’s middle name, Alphonse, is after his great grandfather who recently turned 91.  His great grandfather was the third Alphonse in his family and he is a humble, loyal, and devoted man, which we hope for Bennett too!

Describe Bennett’s personality.

So far, Bennett has been an easy-going little infant.  He is peaceful and content.  It will be interesting to see if these qualities stay with him as he grows.

There’s something special about the first few weeks of life that makes everyone hold them so close to their heart.  Little Bennett and family, congratulations on this exciting time for your family. I hope every moment is cherished.
