It was a beautiful “almost spring” morning, March fourteenth, that changed the O Family’s world forever. Greeted by a beautiful nine pound, eight ounce baby girl, she arrived at six forty three in the morning and measured twenty one inches long. Mom and dad decided her gender would be a surprise. After hearing it was a girl, they named her Katherine… baby Kate. You will enjoy hearing all about this sweet addition to the family.
Describe the anticipation you and the entire family had as you waited for her to arrive.
We couldn’t wait to meet our baby! Our older kids are 5 and 3, so they really couldn’t wait to have a baby in the house. We all talked about what it would be like to have a baby every day – the kids wanted to know every detail.
Was it hard not finding out the gender before she was born? What made you decide for it to be a surprise?
I’ve always wanted to have the gender be a surprise, but I’m too much of a planner to not be prepared. This time, we already had a boy and a girl, so I felt prepared either way! It was the perfect opportunity to have this baby be a surprise.
What do your older two think of their new baby sister?
They absolutely adore her. They are fascinated with everything she does. They are also great helpers – they want to do anything and everything to make her happy!
Kate is happy, sweet and easy going. She loves to be cuddled, and adores her siblings. Although the days are long, and sometimes the nights can be even longer, nothing compares to the smell of their sweet little head, or the joy of watching your baby sleep. The place a child holds in a mom and dad’s heart is one that can be hard to describe, but every parent knows how deep it runs. I’m so happy for the O Family, and for their newest arrival. I hope you enjoy every moment and your sneak peek!
