End of Summer Castle Rock, Colorado Family Photographer

The G Family is dear to me, and has been here for many years. I should remind you that they have two sets of twins, what an incredible blessing! It’s an honor to reveal their session at a beautiful, newer location (to me). You saw their older twin girls here this summer for their senior pictures. You can see their sessions here and here. Now that summer is wrapping up and we’re just days away from fall, it’s wonderful to have them back again, the whole clan!

Here’s more from Mom and Dad:

How old is everyone now?

We blinked, and our older girls are seventeen and SENIORS, and our younger twins are thirteen and in their last year of middle school.

What is one of your favorite family vacations?

Our recent trip to Charleston was one of our favorites. We enjoyed the food, history, and great conversations with the kids.

Name one joy and one challenge with having teens.

Having four teens in the house has been such a joy! These teen years are so fun but also challenging at times. It’s hard to watch them struggle, even knowing it is part of growing up. Taking that step back to let them grow goes against our parental instincts. Of course, their claiming they know everything all the time helps with that. The joys far outweigh the struggles. They are all smart, funny, sarcastic, friendly, and enjoyable to be around (when in good moods).

What is your best parenting advice?

Be gentle with your teens. Be interested in them and their opinions. Be the foundation for them while they experience the highs and lows of these years. And trust your instincts.

What do you want your kids to reflect on and say about their growing-up years?

We hope they remember the little things that created the feeling of being safe, supported, loved, and happy to be home. We asked them what they remembered of their younger years, and they all spoke of our family traditions, spending time with extended family, and traveling together.

G, Family, I cannot thank you more for allowing me to be a part of your lives in such a meaningful way. Enjoy your sneak peek!
