Colorado Early Colleges High School Senior Pictures | Grace

She’s got maturity well beyond her years and aspirations to match it! Meet Grace. She’ll be a high school senior at Colorado Early Colleges this fall. I was overjoyed to be part of her senior year. She’s a lover of books and has one that’s extra special which I’ll let her tell you about. I love her Taekwondo shots, and I think you will too!

Here’s more about Grace:

Tell me about your involvement in Taekwondo and your favorite book (the one in the session).

I’m working towards my third-degree black belt at Kim and Cam’s Taekwondo Academy. I have been attending this school since I was ten years old. I have been teaching Taekwondo at Kim and Cam’s since I was 12 years old, and I just got promoted to head instructor.

The Water Keeper” by Charles Martin is a book that holds a special place in my heart. It is about a man named Murphy Shephard who saves children from sex trafficking. This book made me realize how important fighting against sex trafficking is and how prevalent this issue is in our world. I want to help victims of sex trafficking in some way, possibly a social worker or a coordinator of a home for victims. This book helped me decide my career and will always be with me wherever I go.

Do you have any thoughts on what you’d like to do after graduation?

I want to attend Colorado State University and work towards a minor in American Sign Language, a major in psychology, and a master in social work. As said above, I want to help victims of sex trafficking as my future career.

What are some of your favorite childhood memories?

My favorite childhood memories are the ones when I’m surrounded by the love of my family and friends. My family and friends are always there for me no matter what, and my favorite memories are those where I have supported and been supported by the most important people in my life.

Tell me one thing you hope to accomplish in your senior year.

I hope to earn my third degree black belt in Taekwondo during my senior year. This is a huge mental, emotional, and physical challenge that I am hoping to conquer during this next year.

If you could tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?

I would tell my younger self never to stop helping others, never stop loving others, never stop loving herself, and most importantly, never stop being herself!

Grace, best wishes for your senior year. You help make the world a better place.
