Newborn Photography in Centennial, Colorado | Maisie

Meet Baby Maisie!  She’s got a wonderful family to love her, and she will love them oh so much in return.  They adore her baby sounds, and holding her is to experience heaven on earth.  They are especially welcoming the pink that finally made it into the family.

Here’s more about Maisie!

Tell me about the anticipation of her arrival.

We were so excited waiting for our girl to arrive. She’s the first girl grandchild/great grandchild on my side of the family, and the first girl in four generations on her dad’s side of the family, so she’s been kind of a big deal! We spent a lot of time preparing big brother for her arrival by talking about what a baby sister coming and all the things he’d get to do with her when she arrived.

How was your delivery experience?

Our delivery was a whirlwind. My water broke right in the middle of our dinner routine, so it was a little hectic trying to explain to big brother that he was going to a family friends house for the night and that mommy and daddy would be gone for a couple days and that we would be bringing baby sister home with us. M and I took our time packing up and getting to the hospital that night since I wasn’t contracting yet. Once we got there and got settled in, things escalated quickly so it’s a good thing we didn’t take any longer than we did. After a couple hours of active labor and finally getting an epidural, I was fully dilated and pushing within an hour. Her delivery was stressful because the cord was around her neck and every time I pushed her heart rate would drop dramatically, and I’d have to give her time to recover before I could push again; we were literally minutes away from an emergency c-section but the delivering doctor was amazing and gave me one more contraction to get her out and she was just cooperative enough that we were able to avoid surgery! She was born at 3:49 am.

What does adding Maisie to your family of four mean to you?

She completes our family. We’ve always known we would become a foursome and we are extra blessed by her finally being here.

Describe her personality.

She is pretty laid back so far. We don’t hear from her much unless she’s hungry. When she’s awake, she likes to look around and see what everyone is up to.

How much did she weigh at birth?

7 lbs 1 oz at birth.

G Family, congratulations on your baby girl! She is adorable.
