Weighing in at almost ten pounds at birth, this tiny guy decided he would stay comfy in mom’s belly for a few days later than they had expected. Meet Elyas! He’s got the entire spotlight now that the anticipation of his arrival is over. I just adored the bohemian hanging bassinet that held sweet baby Elyas while he slept, and the plants that were well placed through their home, including a gorgeous wall of greenery right outside his nursery. Tell me about the anticipation of his arrival.
Everyone says those last few weeks feel like months, boy were they right! Elyas came six days late and those six days were the longest of my life. He’s the first grandbaby on both sides so everyone was dying to know when he was going to make his arrival.
How was your delivery experience?
I went into labor on Friday the 19th at 4:30am. Once we labored at home for nine hours, we called our midwife and headed to Seasons Birth Center. It was finally time to have our baby.
After twenty-six hours of intense labor, and five hours of pushing, he was finally born at 5:37am. I was in total disbelief when they laid him on my chest. I couldn’t believe he was finally here.
What does adding Elyas to your family of three mean to you?
Adding Elyas to our family means everything. His dad and I honestly barely remember life before him. I still wake up in complete and utter awe that this little human chose us to be his parents! We love him so much it actually hurts.
Describe his personality.
Elyas is the sweetest, sleepiest little guy. He is so expressive and makes such silly faces, cocking an eye at everything he sees. We feel pretty fortunate to have such a content baby. Watching him grow is so fulfilling.
How much did he weigh at birth?
Elyas weighed a whopping 9lbs 10oz when he was born!
