She twirls and dances without a care in the world. Mom knows this moment in time is fleeting, so she allows her precious daughter to be a child as long as G wants. The unicorn horn on her head and the “magic” wand in her hand transport G to a world of make believe; one where every princess is rescued and every fairy flies, leaving a trail of fairy dust behind. G smiles as she enters this far off world of imagination, remaining close enough that a simple call of her name will bring her back home in an instant. This is childhood. What will one day become a faint memory as G enters her teenage years is now alive and vibrant in the heart of this young girl. Mom and dad love to nurture her playfulness and so does their sweet dog, Raza. Raza herself is still just a pup who loves to play with G. They adore one another and Raza always watches out for G. The love this family has for their dog is touching. Raza has seen three successful surgeries in her short life of only two years. She is focused and one of the strongest female German Shepherds daddy has seen. She would have made a wonderful border patrol or bomb sniffing dog! But this family isn’t giving her up – a beloved family member she will remain. I’ve had the honor of documenting this sweet family’s memories for three years now. It’s an absolute joy for me to tell their story year after year. Their story of love and laughter knits them tightly as they face life together. It’s the together that means so much!
