At Home Baby Photography in Parker, Colorado | Ian

I love the babies!  After a season of wonderful outdoor sessions, it was such a joy to be invited to the home of this sweet family to celebrate little Ian’s arrival.  He was so content to be swaddled, and mom and dad did amazing on only an hour of sleep the night before.  There are sacrifices we make for our little ones, and every single parent I know will tell you that it’s worth it.

Here’s more about Ian!

Tell me about the anticipation of his arrival.

We went all out in our anticipation of him – we took so many classes at the hospital: everything from infant care to child CPR and even a “grandparents are special” class for our parents, we got our basement finished, his nursery wallpapered and ready as well as a corner for him in our bedroom. Nesting was quite an experience for my poor Ian’s dad.

How was your delivery experience?

Very smooth, actually. I labored at home for five hours on the exercise ball with my husband supporting me through out and then went to the hospital at 2:30 AM. In the next seven hours I was checked in, epidural-ed, induced again to increase the contraction-frequency and within 10 minutes of pushing he came out. I heard him holler once and finally saw him when the nurses put him on my chest.

What does adding Ian to your family of three mean to you?

I feel like my whole world just got defined.

Describe his personality.

He seems pretty stoic – doesn’t wail more than once when getting a vaccine, stop’s fussing as soon as he realizes food’s almost there and endures tummy time really well.

How much did he weigh at birth?

He weighed six pounds, three ounces.

S Family, what a beautiful baby!  I enjoyed seeing all the wonderful preparations you made in your home for Ian’s arrival.  One day he will appreciate all the effort (and hopefully he’ll let you get some sleep in the meantime).  Enjoy your sneak peek!
