Centennial, Colorado Grandparent Photographs

Meet this sweet family of six with four adult children, of which some are married and now have families of their own!  I met the entire bunch (minus one) and we enjoyed laughter and I got a peek into their home which is so full of life when they gather.  These pictures were a gift for Grandma’s birthday.  Can you imagine getting something THIS special as a gift?  I’m in love and hope to one day (in the far, far future when I’m a grandma) have something like this on my walls too.  Their oldest daughter, L, answered some questions for me about the past and present (thanks, L!).

How long have your mom and dad been married?

Almost 40 years!

Tell me a little about their story.

M & K met and fell in love in college at Utah State University.  They moved to Colorado shortly after getting married. They loved Colorado and found great jobs and community, so stayed to raise their family of four children many years.

Where did you four siblings grow up?

We all grew up together in Colorado.  My parents moved to Denver in 1979 and have been in the area with their family ever since.

Where do you all live now?

Apart from me, the whole family still lives in the Denver area, spread out a little between Centennial, Denver, and Boulder.  My family lives in North Carolina.

Tell me what you enjoy doing together as a family.

We love to be together, eat great food, laugh, and be silly together.  We take trips, go on nice walks, and have great themed birthday parties. Now that we have another generation in the mix, we love to play with and take care of them.

What makes you all laugh together?

We laugh at my brother, R, who is the funniest of us all. My sister also comes up with great, ridiculous activities for us to do together on her birthdays, including both a pie and mashed potato fight. Family gatherings are happy, loud, and full of laughter for some great reason or another.

What a joy to be a part of their lives in this small way.  I hope each of these memories is cherished forever.  Enjoy your sneak peek!
